Jingling Is In The Air...

Time & Tide waits for no One...it was again mentioned to me when I was observing the beach line at Damai Puri the night before....It was cooling with wind blowing and the waves was pounding stronger at this time of the season. It is just another 6 days to Christmas (the final Sunday before Christmas), wow...as soon as the last Christmas was still very fresh in my mind...when I had the Christmas gathering with my school mates at Kenny Rogers, at The sPring, Kuching.

Time really flown away real fast...and in another 11 days, we will counting down to branf new year, 2010...and then many of my childhood friends will be having big "40" !... (mine still have a year to go..yay yay!) Well, that is not important of course. The most important is that we must appreciate every 24 hours that God has blessed us when our eyes first open after the long night sleep.

How to appreciate ? We must spend and utilise the every moment good intention in favour of Him. Not any moment is spent on useless thoughts, things or anything that displeases our Creator. For non believer, just keep it simple by spending your time righteously in favour of goodness.

It has been a busy month on my job not counting on my family events. Instead of jingling...I have been doing my best to juggle both my official and personal events. It has not impressive enough as I missed out few important events not due to official requirement but the after effect as I felt tired, so I chose "destressing acts". The devil of this could be due to my own inactive exercise and overload body (people called it...FAT). So, I must cast this execerise discipline in stone in order to cast this devil out of my life ! Yes, I will !

.....need to stop now as another personal event is requiring of me now...CHAO !

Annual Leave

In my employement guide, I have a total of 23 days of annual leave per year. I have been finding difficulty to clear the leave and as usual for the past 14 years, I have carried forward 10 days to following year. I remembered burning 20+ days some 10 years back because of an adjustment to the employement reference as I could not clear my leave in time before a new ruling takes effect.

Even on leave, if I am not going overseas or away to another place, I am being constantly disturbed in enjoying my own quiet moments to relax my mind from work. I do not think this is healthy and fair for myself, my loved ones or my true friends.

I do envy my colleagues who could just go for 10 days or two weeks break without being disturbed.

What has been the real reason for me for not being able to clear this leave entitlement ? I have been asking myself....my heart knows the reason but my brain keeps it secret. Thus my body continue to allow this unhealthy practices to continue.

I must work on a system to clear this "backlog" and next year, I will not repeat such a mistake anymore. I will put this is my personal KRAs.

Malaysian Budget 2010 : What is there for me ?

Every year this time round, our PM will announce the budget for 2010 and everyone is expecting goodies to be splashed out....but this time round, there may still some goodies for us as follow;

a) Personal tax top bracket will be reduced by 1% from 27% to 26%....(though I have not reached the top bracket as yet but this will spur more actions to reach to the top !)
b) Increased of personal relief (yes, I need that to gain more savings)
c) Increased on insurance relief (yes, then can buy more protection especially critical illness programme)
d) Tax deduction for broadband services up to RM500 for the period 2010-2012 (aha...good for my streamyx and maxis).

Anymore huh ? I have not seen the full fledge of the budget report...actually every year, I also do not take real time to read the full report except going through the main features. This time round, I must get the full report for good learning.

As for the negatives news from the budget for individual;

1) I have just learned that many friends had decided the main two credit cards to be retained and had cancelled those extras. This is an important consideration move as effective Jan 2010, every card will be charged RM50 (except supplementary at RM25 per card). I can imagine the huge revenue that could be generated for government i.e 1,000,000 people x 2 cards x 50 = RM100,000,000.

I have to decide which are my main two cards soon...but let's see what is the response from the bankers ?

2) Property gain tax - 5%. Luckily I sold my house last year after 6 months on sales when the government abolish the tax two years back. Though, I did not have actual gain when I add my renovation into the total sale value but in the official records, my buying price is definitely lower than the selling price. So, guess need to add in this 5% extra if we want to sale our property.

More to come ??

MGB celebrates Birthday...

I had wanted to blog my appreciation yesterday to mark more meaningful reflection but my IE6 was having problem since the last time the IE8 programme gave way, I have not reloaded the new Ie8....

The past one week has been very meaningful as my family and friends were cheering and wishing me many happy return on this beautiful occasion although my mind was very hook up to my review meeting presentation and business challenges ahead.

My branch colleagues has been wonderful bunch of people managed to pull another trick to celebrate with me last Friday as they know that I will on week long travelling to outstations. Their blessings walk way back to the first time when we were together (although not all of them as many are new faces) in 1997. Each year, they will sing and we will exchange our wishes during our birthday, a simple act but full of meaning as we meant what we wish.
Then, on Saturday, my family (inclusive my 3rd brother and his army) came to my home to celebrate with me. My darling wife has been so wonderful preparing the whole day on the food and taking care of my kids whilst I was in office on Saturday to conduct meetings till late 3pm as also to prepare my last lap performance.
On the eve of my birthday, I am "touch" with shocking celebration arranged by my CEO/CBO together with all the senior management (50 plus people) inclusive of my company directors singing their wishes to me. It is indeed a fantastic moment...
This celebration continues with my CBO and few friends who have waited for the clock to reach 12 midnight, to sing another round of wishes...they are just been so wonderful pals...
Thank you for all the blessings I have received from your wishes and I thank all of you for your friendship and love as I wish for you on my birthday, to receive good health, prosperity and divine blessing in every moment of your life....

It's Hari Raya Celebration again...

First of all, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all my Muslim friends of all races and Selamat Bercuti to all my friends who are on holidays during this festival season.

Time really flies...it another year gone if we use the last Raya as benchmark. Soon, it will be Christmas coming...then...2010 countdown... I am not kidding here and guess what, I have just received invitation from my social club to confirm on the limited place for the 2010 New Year Countdown !

For my corporate life, we are already counting our last lap and how to ensure we push the last drop of our energy to survive in the race.

Time is really precious. It never stops and never waits. The best remedy of time is it heals, at least I rated so...so we must not just let it ticks away without getting all its 'catering" for you...

In Malaysia, we have four days of holiday including the weekend. A good time to go for short trip and do anything you want, be insane to your work for a moment...(not breaking any laws of course) so that we could reorganise ourself when we starts back in the office or the real world on Wednesday.

I have planned out my holidays...just want to relax...have good food, plenty of it with my family and then exercise a lot so that can eat more...I will also drive out to Semenggoh bringing my kids to see Mr. Tee & Heroes' cousins who are being rehabilitated.
Oh yes...visiting my Muslims friends is a must during this Raya....so good food and company will be there...and my kids just love it!

Dreaming To Success

I "dream" to success everyday as;

a) I have my own time...doing what I want with my loved ones...not tie down with regiment timing...
b) I have the financial and physical means to bring family, my siblings & family for holiday every quarterly...especially my parents to AhMuo, China (my ancestry rooting), Beijing, Rome, Jerusalem....)
c) I am able to help those in need whether in financial, time or energy...

and do not need to worry about monetary liabilities...although life challenges I need them to be stronger in facing the colourful life.

In multi-level marketing, this is the promise and idea selling to all the under achievers or achievers. Everyone is attracted to shorten their journey to success and I am not excluded. I want to be successful since 15 years back...

After working for 14 years ++ (in 10 days time, it will be my complete full cycle of 14 years in insurance line), I have tasted success but yet to fully grap and graduated from it...but to some, yes...I am happy for the achievement and I hope to complete my dream in shortest time before the big figure as tickling away in the clock placed on this blog..:-)

It is not a day dreaming...but a dream to achieve as I written down and reflect it almost all the time. Questions been raised, obstacles being overcame and mounting challenges continue to whack my course to success. A lot of support is indeed needed from my wife, family and buddies also friends out there...I thank them for the love and joy of seeing the help sent to me. For all those who are not aware how appreciate I am to them, I pray for their success too.

It is nearer than 14 years ago...but the road is steeper as i could comprehend with my personal experiences when climbing the Mount Kinabalu. To reach the top (for which I have not short of 1km), it requires much more than just dreaming...

But importantly, I must not give up !...I must keep trying...and everyday i know I am nearer to the point of success that I wish...wish me, pray for me my friends, I need your support in your laughters, joys, tips, clarity, sincerity, point blank on my weaknesses to improve and opportunity to help you as to help myself...

See you at the top !

Ocean Park in Three Hours

It was a fast track as we completed our tour of Ocean Park in 3 hours with of course Panda watching and Dolphin show - the main two attractions in the park. However, we did not manage to play any of the games.

The photo is showing the entrance to the world's longest escalator!

A roller coaster at the side of the hill.

One of the Panda, just awaken for while from afternoon nap. The other one deep in her sleep.
Oh, yes at the Panda Sanctuary, there is a show of many type of gold fish with showing of its origins. The following are two of my favourites.
During my teen I like to rear gold fish. O liong, Tut Bah, Sai Tau, Sai Kong blah blah...all are shown there. I have taken all the photos of them but would not be albe to share with all of you here...may be I could just upload to FB photo album, there you could also enjoy of god's creation.

Tourism Year

This year may just be the tourism year for MGB & family. :-)

However with the H1N1 scare and is deteriorating during this time of the year, it seems that the sales of air tickets is getting hottier...probably the players are expecting the sliding of demand of air travels due to the worry of the flu. This "pressure" sales is giving higher temptation for us to look and plan ahead of our next outing.

Hey, before dreaming on the next trip, I would like to share with all my recent trip to Macau, Hong Kong, and Shenzen from 4th June to 8th June in celebrating my 10th anniversary with my one and only darling with whom i have two wonderful "cahaya mata". Well, we may categorise as the 3rd overseas trip (exclude Singapore/WM) together since the last two to Australia Gold Coast and Sydney/Brisbane back in 1999 and 2005 respectively.

It is a wonderful trip together, exploring the oriental cities, the pearl of the east and the one that we have been watching all these while in our life. It is like to refreshment moment as it is like the backyard of our mind as many of the key places have been shown in most of the Hong Kong moviews/serials. I did not do much talking as I only speak a little Cantonese so I let my girlfriend did the talking as she is quite fluent in it. I like to hear the hongkies Cantonese as their sland is like music. I am quite impressed with the conversation among them as they could communicate in high understanding of each other as I observed from the people on the street. They will normally give a quite assuring response as compared to our own locals in our place.

On the first day (evening), we have been to the Ladies' Street, a bigger version of Petaling Street. You must bargain smartly for a good price but then if you are going to Shenzen, then better focus your money in Shenzen. There is also a Men's Street (red lights street), but did not make to the street...:-(

It was a free and easy for the first day (evening as we only reached HK at about 3pm).

The next morning, we had follow a small tour group (all Malaysian). After the dimsum breakfast, we went through the Stars Valley to enjoy the scenery of the Hong Kong's skyscrapers as per above photo, Hong Kong Island's public beach passing by Jackie Chan's mansion and also others. We are also supposed to visit the Madam Tussaud's musuem but we did not manage to go as we do not have the time... :-( i miss the statue of Andy Lau, Michael Jackson.. sobs...

A visit to a jewellery and herbal shops is a must as this is where the tour agency/guides earn their extra tips. We had visited Jackie Chan's jewellery shop (how true...I dun know).

After lunch, we went to Ocean Park but did not play any of the games though we have watched the dolphin show...as we were busy taking pictures of great scenery. Actually, we should spend a day there to relax and experience like what we have gone through in the Dream World in Gold Coast...By 5.30pm, we have to catch our train to Shenzen as our dinner at Shenzen is scheduled at 8pm. Zoom...we go !

Hey, though we had only spent 2 days and a night in HK, it is definite a sweet experience. We have planned to go back sometime this year bringing our RM (Rachel and Moses) to visit the DisneyLand, definitely spend a day there and also another day in Ocean Park.

to be continued...

Safety First, Not Convenience

I must share with you this important lesson but often being ignored due to convenience.

My wife's car was broken into last Thursday night when she parked at Jalan Song. Before going for her dinner (alone as I was on travelling to Sibu), she had transfered her office bag to her car booth (Waja), then she locked up and armed the car's alarm. Within 10 minutes as far she could recall, she return to her car and shocked to find out that the right rear car window was smashed and the back seat was unbuckled and her office bag was missing. She was in total shock and called me to inform. A few important documents and office keys were in the bag. In our mind then, we were very unhappy to face such bad situation. However, a police report were need to be made to report the lost in view of the important document. I quickly called Heroes to help out as he has experience (he had also met with similar incident a month ago...his losses was heavier (thanks buddy) :-)...

The agony of losing or suffering from the breakage was not enough as along her way to police station, she was stopped for two offences. Guess what ?

OML, she was first caught not switching on the head light and second, she was on the phone with me. It was really a bad day (as I listened to the conversation of her with the police, it was heartache indeed but I could not do anything but listen...). But thank God, the police only summoned her on the headlight but not the handphone incident as the police was aware that the car was broken into a few minutes earlier and she was still in shocking condition (thanks for the understanding).

At the police station, it was revealed that there were few cases of breakins and robberies on the same day. Ours is considered minor. We felt that we are lucky to have suffered this minor loss and we could have avoided the loss if we have been more alert and responsible.

This incident is purely due to convenience...lessons learnt are as follow;

a) If we wish to put our bags/belongings into the car booth, do it before our journey to destination (best is do not put in the car booth) as if we do it at the destination, we do not know who are watching us from the vicinity.
b) Use handfree :-) no matter how short or how important is the call..

Mount Kinabalu 2nd Expedition

I am pleased to present you a photo edited by Mr. Tee showing the view of the mighty mountain from Laban Rata.

After slightly more than a month coming down from Mount Kinabalu, the urge of conquering the top has never faded and in fact I have been enquiring for the earliest expedition again to conquer this mountain. I have received request from few friends (not BMs) to organise the trip soonest possible such as in Nov 2009 and of course many had written down in their diary for the May/June 2010 challenge.

What is important here is the fitness and mental level, especially for myself. Of course there is always an exception like our living example of BM5, who is not fit (no training) but has the super mental to back him to the top. So, I would only referring this to my current condition and to achieve this feat, I must conquer my following challenges first;

a) Twice weekly 5km run/10km walk, increasingly to 15km walk
b) Weekly mountain climbing activities, increasing to conquer Mount Santubong before D-day
c) Twice weekly 1 hourly squashing
d) Weekly weight training
e) Learning rope/rock climbing

Above all, I must have my weight reduced by 25% (naturally diet observance and alll the above exercise regime, I will definitely achieve that...:) ).

The greatest challenge is the discipline to start and maintaining this programme. I believe I will end victorious.

(Those who are determined (not only interested but determined) to participate in the next expedition to Mount Kinabalu - please register your name in this reply column...)

Mount Kinabalu 1

So near yet so far....I was at 3,668m against the peak of 4,052m but by distance, it is probably about 1.5km away. It was raining and coupled with strong winds at 4.30 a.m, it is unbearable to move up. My whole suits (from head to toe) was wet (it is freezing but thanks to my extra fats...I can still hold on to climb down) and by the time I reached the last wall (with rope), I practically stop myself from ascending further as I was never prepared to climb the rope (although I had climbed two other wall rope minutes earlier but it was not only about 40 degrees steepness, and this one is probably about 60-70 degrees).

Where to start, there are so many good memories along the way from Day 1. The first day, it took me 9 hours and 18 minutes to reach Pendant Hut (about 80m above Laban Rata) from Mesilau Point. The length of the journey is about 8.3km. Frankly the first 4 km was peanut but as it comes to KM5, I started to feel the tiredness and coldness without my jacket, little drinks and foods. The wind was very strong and we (both Heroes and myself) had to chase our porter for the jackets and extra supplies. We managed to call Ah Too to look for our porter who was about 500 metres ahead of us (500 metres...means we are about 45 minutes in part based on our phase of walking...haiz). Though we have our jacket but we did not take out our head light and extra supplies from the bag as we never thought that we will need to walk for another 4 more hours as we are expecting ourself to reach Laban Rata latest 7pm (so we happily walked ourself up and still got the time to take photos on the scenery...and letting the porter up on his way).

We reached the junction between Timpohon route and Mesilau route at about 5.30 plus pm. I have asked the guide (do not know many times), how near are we to Laban Rata ? He said, it is quite near...another 2.3km (my heart is very sour and tired) and urge us to move quickly to beat the darkness ahead, so we obediently follow through. Along the route, we also met many couples and they were interwined in our journey. Thanks to them, we also use their muscle pain lotion as if not, we could not ever reach to Pendant Hut. They are loving couples helping each other up the Mountain. At 6pm, we overheard one of the couple calling their friends to pack dinner for them as the restaurant closed at 7pm. Thus, I have asked heroes to call Chuan yew to pack for us (this proof to be vital as none of our members did that as I discovered from Paul yesterday...what a relief...). At 5km using Timpohon scale@7.28pm (if Mesilau, we have reached 7km), our supplies had run dry and the darkness had enclosed us. I sms to Ah Too/Paul/Chuan Yew to ask for the head lights/food/medicine (as Heroes complained that he has fever).

At 7.45pm, we received head light from the guide but no food or medicine. Again, I sms to Paul sending stronger message to him telling him that Heroes is very sick. We were at 7.5km, the last pondok before Laban Rata. We waited for about 15 minutes and we decided to move a bit as to shorten the time whilst waiting for help (It is very cold with strong wind blowing...I think the temperature has dropped to below 14 degress Celcius).

Chuan Yew met us at about 7.8km with foods and medicine. What a great relief...(time is 8.00pm) (I must mention here that this Chuan Yew is super fit for this adventure....he had actually reached Pendant Hut at 4 something pm, having rest, trying to get shower and had dinner. he had volunteered to come down to bring supplies to us the moment Paul told him about our needs at around 7.45pm)

It is only about 600m to the Pendant Hut but it took us more than an hour to reach the destination. It is really a painful effort and I could not have completed this journey without the constant motivation from Chuan Yew along the way as he guided me.

At 9.18pm, I reached Pendant Hut ! (I am totally flat !) after 9hours and 18 minutes journey from Mesilau Gate.

To be continued......

Friday 24 April 2009

Next week This moment...

Seven of us, the Magnificent brothers will be resting at Laban Rata whilst hearing out the first and last briefing to scale the peak of Mount Kinabalu at 2.30a.m the next day.....

How is our preparation at this moment....
BM1 ....now resting at home...I think 70% fitness...
BM2 ....now having dinner with family...fitness at 80%
BM3 ....dun know what he is doing now...but fitness at 95% (he had conquered the summit last year...so he is the most experience of all)
BM4...dun know also...but judging from his squashing...he is probably at 80%
BM5...I really do not know...guess he is at 70%
BM7....hmmm this guy is yo-yo...but I put him at 80% as he is strong mentally.

Last but not least, myself....I am trying to peak at 100% by 30th, that is only few days to go...now...probably at 60%. Being the heaviest of all, I am at a disadvantage as need to carry more weight, breath more deeply...but my strongest point is my "mental state".

However, fankly, my last two months were really the boiling point of my patience emotionally as facing unscrupulous people. I have lost much of my time in managing such challenges. Postively, tomorrow, i must sweat all out, challenging the 10km walk through hilly action in speeding up or stress test for this summit.

I will not ask for more time as I am really looking forward to this enjoyable trip with best of buddies especially after conquering the Summit, to the island of tits. Wow...

Continuing.....

Tuesday 7 April 2009

Another BM Quits

Whilst all BMs are preparing smart and hard for the summit this monthend, we have just received the announcement of one of the most interesting BM quiting this quest of conquering Mount Kinabalu. The last round, we had our Joe but was almost effortly replaced by another BM. This time round, it is hard to get a replacement but who knows, there may just another BM waiting to fill up this seat ! This is so a positive news like the stock market nowadays.

Hey, the good thing is the rest are ever eager to ensure 100% success of this scalping ! (I had just bought my windbreaker/sweater that cost me a bomb ! so..the commitment is definitely 100% here although lately I am faced with a lot of challenges...)

Seriously, this morning, is just my 2nd time continuously work myself up in preparing the quest...mind me...it is only about 24 days left. BM1 told me that we need to disciplinely carry out our own training during weekday whilst for weekend, we can do it together.

This week, we will scale Mount singai again (3X I guess to recover the last 3 trips which are supposed to be done !). I hope BM1, BM2, BM6 & BM8 can all make it to this last few training together...

I shall calling you....wherever you go ... (Digi theme song....)

FIRST FAMILY MOVIE IN CINEPLEX

A free ticket to Movie at Star Cineplex was given to Rachel as she achieved 6th position in her last Semester exam. It was given for all students who had achieved with 10 positions in the class. S0, I promised her to take her to the movie on last Tuesday, 31/3/2009 as the dateline is due for the ticket to be redeemed. We have decided to watch "Dragonball" as the rest are more towards adult preference.

She was very happy as I can see the radiance from her face as we reach the cineplex hall. I am happy too as this is the first time that I brought my whole family to a cineplex. Moses is also very happy as he keeps commenting during the movie (except the part that few teenagers behind keeps swearing vulgarities...shXt).

I hope to make more often especially when there is better "cartoon movie" around...may going for the one that Rachel is posting in front of the picture.

Discovering Truth or Lies

In the last two weeks, I have been discovering lies made throughout the years. This is really sad especially the trust built up over the time has broken to pieces. A trusted person but it turn out to be mastermind of many dilemmas.

This trust once broken, it cannot be mend by human standard (even to my standard..hehehe). Though I am angry and sad, I looked up at Jesus, whom has been cheated, betrayed, spanked, spit or even scorge, He can still forgive us...why can't we when we are His followers ?

Many a times, we have breached our promises with Him, we ask for forgiveness, He forgave us....

When i climbed Mount Singai two weeks ago, The Lord subtly gave me the message...forgive as I have forgiven you. I will not forsaken you even the rest despise you.

When the dust was about to settle down, today, I discovered more lies (truth about lying) and complications. I could not believe this is happening. I am gathering more information and it is just so sad... hai...

Moving On With New Toy

Finally, I have changed my phone service provider to Maxis, by porting my old faithful number from Celcom. I am with Celcom since 1997, April after I came back from KL to start work at the branch office in Kuching. That is the time when I have bought my first Nokia 232 and sign up the line ever since.

This big change of service has rocked me for the last two weeks or so especially getting the porting successful and to the right plan. I have been in communication with at least 10 Maxis customer service staff...many of them I must say that are not well trained and may be their performance drop due to hectic requirement from customer. however, few are excellent and I am really impressed.

Well, why the big move ??? Am I not satisfied with Celcom ? Nope, they are good and comparatively cheaper on average basis when compared to the other two telcos. However, I will save further on other charges like email, blackberry chats, msgrs etc.

The big carrot was I was enticed by my company's offer to take up blackberry (actually not offer, it is a requirement as the head) with the monthly subscription to broadband data line is fully adsorb by the company leaving us to pay installment over the black bold at average RM100.00 for 12 consequtive months. Not a bad deal except the deal is for 24 months basis. In any case, we leave the company, we have to pay on our own.

I am actually excited to have this connected in view of the power within this small equipment and so far, I have been using for the last 10 days, it is superb though I can be also being tracked every moment.

Disadvantage ? I must learn to be more discipline and patience as information are received promptly, so I need need to be more responsive whilst must have extra patience to evaluate information carefully rather than acting speedily without thoroughly assess the situation. At times, must buy time to understand whole scenario before acting further.

A bit small for me, so I have learnt new skills to be more tender to pressing or touching...even my eyes must be sharpen to be focus enough...(must also eat blueberry to strengthen the eyes muscles).Oh yes...incidentally..i have received an email talking above 5C (Cash, Condo, Car, Credit Card, Career)versus 5B (have Bungalows, have BMWs, own a Bank, be a Boss, have Brains)...but I think the author forgot about this Blackberry is another B for it !! (chuckles...)

I have not tried blogging from it...I will do it soon...when I am freer. hehehe chiao !

Monday 23 February 2009

Time is running out !

It is less than 68 days before our journey to the peak starts. Guess what....(no need to guess), I have not really started...actually not started as yet (one round two round...cannot be considered started), on my training. Oh yes, if you stop your traning and had a break over 10 days...then your fitness level will reset back to previously...(that is what the expert said !) So, considering the CNY break, whatever tested before new year, is all gone. I have to restart everything.

A lot of scary statements have been advised by my tour agent who had personally climbed the peak on 6/4/2008...yes, the photo is givne by her. She firmly said, if we do not pick up our training mode, then we can kiss our trip goodbye. You will suffer a lot, even for her she training and prepared well...every two three steps near the peak, she has to breath very deeply. She nearly gave up as it is becoming very tiring, dangerous etc. (BTW, she was stretcher down from the peak as half way descending, she missed one step....she feel down and broke her leg...(huuuu, hair stand)).

So BMs, reality check please ! (of all BMs, I have learnt that BM2 was the most discipline...hmmm)

Happy Valentine Day

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Kick Start To Training

I confess that I have only had twice training sessions, the last was some two weeks ago...walking 4 km at the Stutong Park with Heroes at 6.30 a.m. This morning (in fact few days ago too), we are supposed to do another few rounds but sad to say it is raining heavily at 6.30 a.m.

Why do we train in the morning at 6.30 a.m. ? I would say that is the best time available rather than evening when we have a hard finding (I mean myself) to spend for training as my office hour finished at 6pm.

So this morning, I took the training activities to surf internet instead for more information about conquering Mount Kinabalu and I found this site to be very informative as the writer clearly share the experiences for us to prepare ourself well.... Go and find out ! http://www.climbmtkinabalu.com/index.html

We have less than 93 days before the starting at Mesilau Gate. It is very exciting even as I type this blog whilst worrying about high attitude challenges...my stamina, my tummy, my legs...

This Saturday, I pray that there will be no rain at 6.30 a.m, so that we can go walking for at least 8 km (equivalent to the distance from Mesilau to the Summit) except it is on a flat ground :)

First Day At Work

Today is the 3rd day of Lunar Chinese New Year. Time passes very fast, here I am in office after 4 days of holiday.

It is a quiet day but manage to secure one business as many offices are still closed and if open, the key people are still away on leave. No collection can be done in thses few days and to some customers, they do not like people to ask for payment within 15 days of the CNY.

Food is expensive with RM5.00 kolok mee for breakfast and afternoon, I have difficulty in finding place to eat as many favourite coffee shops are still closed.
Tomorrow, I shall be taking a day off to be with my children and wife as they are still on holidays. Still very much in new year mood and I think everything will return to usual by next Monday when everyone is back to work.
Better get back to work now...

Chinese New Year Shopping

It is only left with 6 days to "Sa Chap Mei", the mood is definitely gearing up and I can see more people coming out to shop over here in Kuching. However, I can be sure that the total sales figures is much lower than previous years. Everyone is more conscious about spending though they still buy new clothing, new year decoratives and goodies. May be not to some of you...as your Fountain of Wealth flows bottomless... or may be many have not received the bonus news from their companies...or just because of the recent floods has disorganised the festivity arrangement...

I bet you would agree with me that you still have not seen fireworks or heard any sound of crackers in these last few days to the reunion dinner. In our younger time, we have already burned few boxes of crackers and half of the "chip ponk". Still again, the price is cheaper this year. I was told that 3,000 sounds only cost RM18...however, limited stocks is available.
Let's pray deeply every of our plans shall go better than expected ! Moooo...ooo

Water came first...before the final crunch !

The last two days were hectic days and I hope it is the end of it though today, the Meteorology Department had forecasted the grandest King Tide will be visiting Kuchingnites tonight. Almost everyone in Padungan areas suffered quite badly from flooding. My office suffered twice flooding since Sunday evening.

We were so pump up to face the financial crunch effects trying to resolve best strategy to minimise the impact but got hits first from this total flooding disaster. What a mess indeed.

It has never been so bad in the past 20 years as reported for this area of the CBD. Many business premises suffered badly.

I continue to pray for better tomorrow, I pray for strong unity and resilient to bull through the year...the Year of Bull !
