Government advises that it shall only give RM0.30 subsidy per litre against the market price. So, my friends, hold on to your senses and prepare for the worst....it may just cross RM3.50 per litre in near future !

I am paying for $1.60+ per litre and the price is floating everday and different petrol station selling at different price. There is a link between petrol and food as discount of 4 Cents per litre is given if you purchase your grocery at supermarket linked with the petrol station and another further 4 cents discount if you buy certain amount of goods in the petrol station.
A good advice given to us is pump the petrol in the early morning. The cooler temperature will provide more volumn for money. In the hot afternoon the volumn of petrol expand and you are pumping less.

I am not surprise that the price will keep increasing in the near future..... The subsidy is not enough even though we can claim back RM625 per year for those lower cc car. Bear in mind, we have to spend extra 40% for our monthly petrol but our petrol allowance still status quo.
Change lifestyle? Good suggestion... how? change our car to use gas instead of petrol, just like taxi in KL.
william, does it really make a lot of difference for pumping the petrol in the am or pm? I mean we get the same amount of petrol for whatever money that you spend regardless if it is am or pm.
Your explanation has got to do with temperature, right? How ??
Heroes, the price of the petrol increase, our lifestyles will be very much the same. Agree?
Initially we may do a bit of adjustment to our lifstyles but eventually we may go back to our oldself like fetching visitors, frend from airport..etc. Agree?

LPG will be a good idea. But the gas cylinder will occupy a big space at the luggage compartment. Another risk of doing that is LPG price will increase soon due to more demand and the saving could not justify the investment cost.
Buying a small car could help. Any car less than 1000cc that uses 5 litre per 100KM. Assuming travelling 100KM per day and 7 days consume 35 litres which is also nearly RM 100!
I am not sure how much the volume of gasoline will be affected by weather. I believe most people just don't care otherwise the petrol stations might be closed for business in afternoon and night time.
Hope that this will clarify. I do pump petrol in the early morning now. I am not sure if there is any saving. Just hope the oil price to drop.
TIPS ON FILLING YOUR CAR (Good information)----- A note from a South African contributor
I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol.... but here in Durban we are also paying higher, up to R7.35 per litre. Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline where I work in Durban, we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every litre.
Only buy or fill up your car in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your litre is not exactly a litre. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business.
But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
One of the most important tips is to fill up when your tank is HALF FULL.
The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space, petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine.
Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every litre is actually the exact amount.
Another reminder, if there is a fuel truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy, DO NOT fill up--most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

1. plan your trip well...cut down merry go round
2. inflate your tyres
3. carry light weight
4. service your car regularly
5. Cut down our eating habits...:)...as this will save money to adsorb the price increase effect
6. Relook into our eating habits
May be also instead of looking at cut down...think of better ways to increase your income level...then you can afford such minor increase...???okey ? Imagine big bosses, I do not think they are affected (though they may suffer on business cost structure but that cost shall be adsorb by the company and shall pass e increase cost to the consumers...

I read that article recently in a motor magazine and it was written by a French motor sport driver. Somehow, u read it from a South African contributor? Hmmmm...who's breaching the copyright? Who cares as long as it is useful info. bugger, the petrol hike really hits me. Since the hike, I have been driving max speed at 80km/hr and avg...40km/hr and try to minimise break!!! Who cares if there's any 'toot' behind me. ;)

Rakyat tidak dibebankan dgn bermacam-macam cukai
Barang keperluan jauh lebih murah berbanding malaysia.
Pendapatan per kapita penduduk Singapura jauh lebih tinggi berbanding Malaysia.Adalah munasabah harga minyak di Singapura tinggi kerana ia selari dgn pendapatan penduduknya.
Another extreme is water powered car. I believe the technology is there but not matured yet. A normal car could be converted to run with water with cost than the gas conversion. The question is the maturity of the technology. Maybe the oil companies are paying lots to prevent the spread of this technoloy otherwise oil is to sispose rather than to be mined.
Mr. Tee, good one on comparison. Critically, if we increase the pay or have the inflation of across the board...are we okay ? say, everything increase in tandem...locally it may not have any effect but to exports, we may suffer a lot ? international communities may choose other suppliers rather us ?
Transportation of all have already sounded increase with immediate effect ! So, the rippling is going to be fast and furious...
