Thick Skin

How thick is our skin literally ? Are you always ready to eat back your words ?

In politics, you may do so...as there is no permanent enemy or friends. But when we are dealing with human with feelings, it is not acceptable to just ignore previous hurts or insults and make goods.

However, as Christian, we must always forgive and make good. Probably, based on this belief, unscrupulous people like to attack us on our Christianity forgiveness as they would expect us to be lenient.

Nevetheless, though we will always forgive the wrong doings by another but not to the extend been blindly play around by such opportunist. Once bitten, twice careful.

If we are the thick skin, it must be for good purpose i.e asking donation for good cause, doing product sales for right purpose and etc.

If we are thick skin of asking forgiveness but continuing our bad habits, it will be soon that we have no friends left with us except with those thicker skins.

Take charge, be alert and pray for God's guidance in facing a thick skin.

Half Year 2007

Tommorow is the last day of the 1st half 2007. It is a time of reviewing our Personal Goals 2007 which was set in December 2006.

May we take some time to reflect on our progress, shortfalls or any changes to ensure our path is still intact to our goals.

Time waits for no one, although we sometime waiting for time. Give your best to value yourself.

Health is Wealth

Since early this month, I was down with fever and block nose. Though I thought I have recovered till few days ago, I caught another round of flu, block nose with slight fever due to few late nights when my bosses were in town. Popping a lot of Vit C + garlic pills, now I am left with coughing and slight flu. I really hope to be back on 100% ok soon as there are so many engagement duties towards end of this month.

Frankly, during the suffering period, health is really wealth as when we are sick we are unable to perform our duties to the best of ability. A lot of reflection though, as it helps with our conscience. I am considered very blessed by the Almighty as my last visitation to doctor was way back to June 2005.

My friend, do take care of our health as it is wealth for us when we are healthy !

A Great Man

Yesterday, the world celebrates the good deeds of a great man in the family as I also celebrated with Him yesterday.

This man called Dad, whom have also sacrifices a lot but may not be as much remembered as the lady in the family, Mum as he has not spend as much time with his children. May be this is why it is fair to understand that we always mentioned about mother's tongue instead of father's tongue.

I have a great Dad whom I understand better and better as when I myself received the same status as he is to my two children, Rachel & Moses. My Dad has been working hard from odd workers to kapala running here and there...and during recession in 80s and 90s, he losses jobs and had to travel far to the sawmills somewhere between Sarikei & Sibu, goes out to work early in the morning at 5am, then came back late,..at times had to live in worker's quarters. In younger age at 12 years old, I had the opportunity to follow my dad to help him during my school breaks...being young,..I was easily tired as to follow the same routine...and I could remember at one occassion I doze off whilst manning a working machine but was quickly wake up by my father and was given stern warning.:)

Beside hardworking feature, my father also is very actively in the community's marriages or funerals...and over the years, I could see and experience the kind of respect the community leaders had for him, a simple man @ free news coverage was given for each time the marriage of each of his sons and daughter.

My father gave me the moulding as firm and hardworking person. At times, I was angry for his over firmness and strict discipline as during that time, I could not understand what is life pressure or work pressure and expectation from all parties and financial responsibilities. But now, I have clearly understood...and I will always treasure the love and guidance that he had showered on me and I will also follow his lead to love my children and gave them the best.

I thank God the Father whom had given me a great Father on earth. I will always pray for God's blessing for his happiness, peace and harmony throughout his life. Father, I love you. Amen

A Deserving Break...

Today is usually busy as it is the eve of Gawai, a big celebration in Sarawak and subsequent to it, long holiday pursues beside it is my office monthend closing (still chasing figure). Indeed almost everyone is looking forward for this break and many had already started their holiday, going back kampong or over sungai or overseas.

This time, I am still considering on where to go as budget is tight and hope for better spending of money though I have been promising my family to bring them to good holidays, a break from my usual routine.

Well, 4 days of resting from 1/6/2007 till 4/6/2007...what should I do ?..May be the following ?

a) Spent quality time with my wife and kids...doing household chores, watching Power rangers or ultraman
b) Reading my favourite management book
c) Playing squash all day long...burning my extra kilos
d) Window shopping...moving one complex to another...
e) Having coffee with my best friends...blowing canon..
f) Going back to Sibu..spending time with my parents/in law
g) Blogging ?
h) Reviewing and charting my success path...
g) Site seeing..

What would you do during holidays ? doing your usual favourite things or try something new ?

I believe, as long as we are spending quality time with our loved ones, that would be the best spending of time and it is worthwhile to have the deserving break...

Have a nice weekend and happy holiday..Cheers

A Great Helper coming

Tommorow is another great feast, we shall be celebrating...Jesus sending helper to us, Holy Spirit..the spirit God, the third person in the Trinity. We called the feast "Pentecost", the descend of the Holy Spirit...which on the day itself, two thousand years ago...the apostles and Mother Mary were strengthened to go out preaching and sharing the Good News without fear.

Today, as we journey our life, we need the same Spirit to strengthen our faith, our objective to live on and serving with love. The challenges in perfecting our faith is ever there and we need him to come to us to fill us our empty vessel with its 9 gifts.

The Holy Spirit, a great helper, a great buddy given to us by our Lord and Brother Jesus who knows each of our weaknesses.

May we be strengthened on our faith and unselfishly share this seed of love with everyone whereever we go as we pass the love on.

Happy Feast Day.

Life is so fragile...

I have just learnt yesterday that one of my classmates had gone back to the Lord on 2nd May 2007 around 9.30 a.m after complaining chest pain. It was an acute heart attack that cost him his life. At the age of 35 years old, he is still very young, energetic, a lot of actitivites awaiting for him as I could see when surfing his blogs some 2 weeks ago..and I felt sad as I unable to comprehend as to why a person at such young stage, non-smoker, with comfortable working life in Labuan could suffer a stroke !

This is a wake up call for me and many of us especially those closer to him as we need to value our loved ones and our special time in this world. Everyday given by the Lord is a blessing indeed for each one as we live through the day. We can never now when is the time for us to go as like my classmate whom I am believe also do not have any indication over his case but we could always prepare as to live our life to the fullest, to live according to our Lord's will, loving one another among our family, support and help the less fortunate and the needy or whatever things we wish to do at will.

This reminds me of;
Do not wait for the time as you will never know when is the last time, go for it and decide the best to shower your love and commitment. Do not keep the best for the last, but give at every opportunity the best you can to deliver the highest statisfaction.

Frankie, my classmate, thank you for your friendship, the time that we have spent together during our school times, a memorable for me.

As today is your funeral, I will lift up my daily prayer to our Lord Jesus & Mother Mary for the repose of your soul, may the perpetual light shine upon you and may you rest in peace. Amen.
