Bitter Root

If anyone can recalled what I have mentioned in one of my blogs where I said I was reading a book written by a Christian Preacher, Joel Osteen. Umm...that was probably about 4 months back...and I am still reading it.

Well, this morning (actually yesterday morning as now it is already 3.00a.m)...I have managed to finish reading another 2 chapters and left with probably 5 more chapters....it is a fast reading for my standard in 30 minutes. These two chapters have touches much of most of our current affairs in the company or family . Let me summarise the gist of the learning here in my own words;

a) We must respect the person in the authority (on the chair) although he or she is not doing what we like. We must work in the favour of the Lord and work with good faith and action. Our God is a fair God and he will pay back all we have done and all those who have done to him. Time will tell as we may not see it in time but it will come in time.

b) We must always appreciate our wife, children and family no matter how. We ought to spend quality time with them before they are gone or we are perished first. All the little things that they have done, appreciate them. Refrain from condemning them for mistakes but highlight the reason why you are not happy with their actions. Communicate well and share sincerely, and the relationship will be much strengthen. If you could not share all with them, then who can you share ?

c) Do not get even with your enemies but let God does the wonder. Be patience and forgive them like Jesus forgave all his oppressors but God raise him up and sit him next to him. It is not easy but if we are willing to make the first step, God is willing to be walk with us through the journey.

d) A bitter root cannot bear good fruit. What is rotten inside and if not being cure, whatever cured externally will not be lasting. If there is anger inside us, spit it out and make peace with the person or situation. If there are person we have wrong, seek forgiveness. Once this is clear, we will experience real peace and we will bear good fruits.

e) Do not soak ourself in negativities for long.... (suffering, anger, rejection, demotivation is understandable especially when going through sad tragic moments) we must stand up, let go and move on. God knows our pain but the choice is always ours to make. If we choose life, then let there be life...if we choose condemnation, we will doom ourself.

Lead a faithful life as the journey to salvation is a real testing before the final rewards. The choice is ours....Have a nice weekend.

What I knew is that you loved to read as many books as you could in your life.

a) I would agree with you that we must respect our superior in our organisation although sometimes his/her acts might not 100% accepatble to us but of course it doesn't mean that we shall follow his/her acts. In the law of Power, we must always remember we must 'Never Outshine The Master' unless we choose to be own boss.

b) Treasure every single moment with your loved one as they are the one that would ask you how tired you are flying and always support you from behind when you are on top.

c) It shall not be that easy to be taken into action but its not an 'IMPOSSIBLE' act. Read carefully..... The law of Power also mentioned that we have to make friends with our enemies as they are the persons whom you would feel least pain when you are hurt and furthermore they could become your useful friends.

d) Don't judge a book by its cover. A good book not necessary has a presentable cover. It applies to us and our daiy life too. People's character is hard to change but it's not 'IMPOSSIBLE' too. We must try our very best to clear all the misunderstandings.

e) Sometimes it's easier to say than act but anyway we all have to move on our life although we experienced obstacles in out life journey.

Yes, you are right....I hope I could read 10,000 quality books in my life and in fact for those good ones, it helps in preparing ourself for the high roads (Happy that you bought another great book last night after all it is tax deductible).

Heroes, we can only do the possible things, let divine do impossible things or people call it a miracle.

Do not be confuse when your leader is doing something evil and you choose to be silent because respecting them. We can always move on and not to dwelt with them. However, do not just remain in the fraternity and enjoy the benefits those keeping disliking the leaders' action. We shall be hipocrites like them in due time.

Be careful when reading the book of Power..it is misleading when one is not strong. Like the Ancient chinese warrior...."chao hoi when the base is weak".

But I strongly believe nothing can compared to Jesus' two commandments;
1) Love God above all the rest, with all your heart, soul, energy and being.
2) Love others as yourself.

If we can live on the above two commandments well (I mean damm well), nothing could influence us.

Yes, I agree that life is a journey, we have to continuously transform and change following the will of God as we hope by the time when our turn to return to dust, we are a complete worthy servant of the Lord and be accepted to eternal joy.

Hoi Heroes, when you mentioned loved ones...we can differentiate to two groups;

a) The ones loving you much
b) The ones that you love so much

or the third one...lovers (loving each others very much

Group a) may wish that you spent a lot of time with them but you may not want to depending how much you love them.

Group b) may not wish you be spending time with them much though you like every moment

Group c) wish to be together every moment...

Mind boggling kan ?

a) ...respect the person in the authority (on the chair) although he or she is not doing what we like.

No doubt abt it.

b) We must always appreciate our wife, children and family no matter how....

No doubt abt it.

c) Do not get even with your enemies but let God does the wonder....

Very doubtful. Waiting is agony. There haven been too much damages done and to wait for our God to do wonder?

d) Agree

e) Agree. But if your superior EVERYDAY soak u in negativities what can we do? IF we stand up against our superior than we go against point (a)?

Heroes and MGB,

do you both have explanation for point e) by Mr Tee?

Joe, it is not easy to do it but it can be done.

We must learn the art of rubbing and managing our superior but not to sucking them up. We must be sincere and alert and nicely advise them on the situation. A protection must also be in place to ensure when the lightning strike, we have the lightning arrestor functioning.

Do not get our emotion run wild especially if our opinions are not being taken up. Try to see from a different perspective or probably from their point of view. However, as I have said earlier, if they are real devil, then just dump them or move on to look on new opportunities (but if you are serious enough to change him/her, stay on and prepare for the worst as the route is definitely hostile).

Now...it is hard isn't it ?

Concerning mr tee point no. (e).

First of all, the 'negativities' mentioned by mr tee are not specific and to what extent I don't know. Here I would make some assumptions like below:-

1) You proposed a change in your organisation - Feedback = no budget, your proposal is not going to work, like shit etc...

2) Different views in certain issues. This is very common in an organisation and the best way is to make compromise with each other which is for the good of the company and staff as a whole. Like chinese saying, "One Mountain cannot hide Two Tigers".

3) Authority in decision making. This issue is always happen when you have a superior to report to. An organisation should have it's own authority structure in decision making. A Manager has his own authority and beyond than that, REFER.

mr tee, my points above might not reflecting your negativities u mentioned earlier but always remember, in order for an organisation to run smooth and create a healthy working environment for our staff, it's superiors responsibility to work hand in hand. Imagine, if two bosses are not click, who's gonna to suffer most? Our staff...

When talk about respect our superior, it just like we want our staff to respect us, right? Respect is to be earned. We respect our superior but doesn't mean that we agree with all his/her decision or action or way of doing thing.

Stand up.....hmmm... that's the last thing you would do and provided you are ready to do so.... never let your emotion control your action.

Afterall, our life is short and treasure every single moment with anyone around you.

Got it, Mr Tee?

The 2 gurus of motivation are here for just a couple of days and if you wanna talk to them, do it fast.

Get your ass moving and bring them for dinner or "yam char."

The meeting will bring you good.

Dear gurus,
I do agree with all your points mentioned but as MGB highlighted, we need to look at it from different perspective.

Having said that, I like especially the closing comments from Heroes and MGB. Ya, move on with new opportunites or life is too short to mumble around.

Having said said that another issue cropped up today and the bank is at fault. Yet I'm the one finger pointed as the end result despite blaming everything on the bank earlier on. After lunch the blaming direction turned around and goes straight towards me! KNN. Boh gent hu leh! Ha me tu si gua! CCB.
